How often should I contact my physician?
It is important to call your Skin Health Counselor at least once a week for the first 3 weeks, or as needed to have your progress
checked. When you make this call, be prepared to tell your Skin Health Counselor how much tretinoin, Clear and Blender have been used.
If the prescribed protocol has created severe reactions or it is too slow for you, your Skin Health Counselor can, with the doctor's approval, change or modify the protocol.
You will be instructed to check back with your doctor in about 4 to 5 weeks. As you enter the second phase of the Restoration process, follow-up appointments can be made for 6 to 12 week intervals depending on the protocol.
What if I'm in the "Out with the Old" stage and don't want to be red and flaky at a social event?
Your skin responds quickly. So, stop the Exfoderm, Clear, Blender and tretinoin treatments 3 to 4 days prior to the
event. Continue to use the Cleanser, Toner and Sunfader. Apply Action and Tolereen in the morning and evening. Most reactions will subside in 2 to 3 days. Go back to the protocol as soon as your social
event is over to restart the Restoration process.
What if my skin is itchy?
Discontinue Exfoderm, Blender and tretinoin treatment for 1 to 2 days. Use Tolereen and Action in the morning and evening until
comfortable. Continue with the protocol as soon as possible to restart the Restoration process.
How much time is needed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles?
You should continue 2 to 3 more skin cycles after the Corrected Phase on a Moderately Aggressive protocol to achieve anti-aging
improvements.
What happens if I am in the sun or in hot conditions?
During the first phase of treatment, your skin is very sensitive to the sun and heat, so use Sunfader, Healthy Skin Protection SPF
35, or Sunblock several times a day when exposed to the sun. Avoid hot baths, showers and saunas. If you cannot follow these precautions, then
discontinue the Blender and tretinoin therapy a week prior. Continue to use the balance of the protocol and return to the total protocol as soon as
possible.
What if my skin is really sensitive at the beginning?
You can choose a Gradual or Flexible protocol. Keep in mind that reactions around the mouth and eyes may be stronger than on
the rest of the face. In these areas, you can double the amount of Blender versus the amount of tretinoin. Cut the strength of Exfoderm by mixing it
with Action to a level you are comfortable with and cut the frequency of application to 2 to 3 times per week. Then gradually increase the frequency and decrease the ratio. Continue with the prescribed protocol on the cheeks and forehead. Remember, the program is flexible and you can tailor it to fit your lifestyle. But don't forget that your doctor's
program should be followed to achieve the best results.
Is the Nu-Derm system exclusively for facial skin?
No, treating and restoring healthy skin is not just for the face. You can use the same treatment on other parts of the body, such as the neck and chest, arms, hands, thighs and legs. However, always consult your physician to achieve best results.
